Range Design Consultations
Want to build a range or shoot house, but aren’t sure where to start? One of our experienced team members will meet with you to listen to your needs and work with you to create a design that matches your vision.
TSA Range Compliance Consultations & Evaluations
As of 2015, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires all ranges seeking contracts to train federal air marshals to prove they are in compliance with OSHA lead regulations. We can test your range for both surface and air contamination and consult with you about ways to fix any violations, if applicable.
Regardless of whether TSA training is your goal, OSHA and common sense requires range owners to take every precaution against lead contamination. Lead dust is a toxic substance that can cause neurological, gastrointestinal, muscular, and other systemic impairments. Our trained technicians can test for both surface and airborne lead and decontaminate your range on a regular basis before the levels climb to dangerous levels.
Lead Mining & Recycling
If you use sand or rubber bullet traps, you will need to periodically mine out the bullet and bullet fragments, clean the trap, and recycle the lead components. We can do this safely and efficiently for any type of trap.
HVAC Installation or Replacement
Good ventilation is vital for maintaining air quality and for filtering out lead dust. We specialize in installing or replacing HVAC systems to OSHA specifications, particularly in regard to HEPA filters, which eliminate 99.97% of lead particles.
Even if you are not a regular D5 customer, range repairs are available. Call us for problems with any repair need, from bullet traps and range accessories to structural damage.
Range Refurbishment & Upgrades
If you’ve outgrown your range, there’s no need to start over. D5 Ranges can start with your existing structure and refurbish, expand, and upgrade your building and products to meet all of your growing needs, whether it be an expanded client base, a growing police force, or new tactical training demands for military personnel.
Range Remediation & Closure
Closing down a range is not as simple as selling the land and moving on. Due to high levels of lead exposure, ranges must be tested for lead and the soil must be treated. All bullet fragments must be reclaimed and recycled, even ones that have been buried in the dirt or rocks in an outdoor range. D5’s experienced staff can help perform this process thoroughly and efficiently in compliance with all federal and local standards so the land can be resold.
